Chris started taking classes at Acting Out Studio when he was 8 yrs old. It opened a whole new world to him. The acting classes gave Chris a very strong foundation in the industry, and he was able to confidently walk into auditions and book several commercial and short film jobs. The film program introduced Chris to the world of not just acting but filmmaking. He has gone on to direct and produce his own short films, and last year he booked a major role in the feature film Wish Man. The footage from his AOS films opened many doors for him, and the experience he got on the AOS film sets made him look like a seasoned professional while on the set of Wish Man. He has received many accolades on his professionalism while on set, and much of it is due to the preparation that he received at AOS. Thank you AOS for teaching him, guiding him and supporting him as he navigates this crazy business!!

Acting Out Studio has allowed me to gain valuable experiences at a young age. Through my years at Acting Out, I have been exposed to all of the aspects of film including acting, directing, scriptwriting, and cinematography. Kamber and the instructors at Acting Out have been a huge inspiration to me and have helped me make my decision to pursue filmmaking as a career and I cannot thank them enough.

At Acting Out Studio Charlotte has been TRULY blessed to connect with EB (Elizabeth Byland) who she considers her mentor. I have seen firsthand how EB really cares about her students and really cares about the quality performance they do. EB is a true professional and Charlotte/AOS is lucky to have her. She really knows her stuff and is very talented. Charlotte is so passionate about improv, she would never miss a class if at all possible. EB has helped her to become more comfortable on stage and confident and she has really blossomed by joining the improv team. Charlotte also had a great experience in acting class with PJ, he is also very professional and I can tell REALLY cares about his students. Kamber (owner) has been available and helpful at any turn where I needed a recommendation or assistance.  She also offered an ‘industry’ workshop before Talent Inc. that helped us consider whether Charlotte would like to get into the “business”. She gave me time on the phone when we were considering what agents to utilize in NY and needed help finding an acting coach out of state. AOS even helped with setting up headshots with a really great photographer in from LA. It really has been a full service studio for our us. We are blessed to have AOS up in the Lake Norman area, and I hope that the studio continues to grow and offer even more opportunities.

Charlie’s active participation in weekly scene study at Acting Out Studio definitely led to increased confidence and honed his acting skills. Even at 5 years old, he could observe his classmates in an exercise and then use that insight to help improve his next attempt at the scene. The “intro” skills these kids learn in Acting I are actually the ultimate foundation for all actors that want to consistently book work: following directions, learning how to work effectively in an ensemble scene, understanding the power of stillness, utilizing constructive feedback, and figuring out how to improve your work after watching yourself on playback. Acting is an extremely competitive business. Agents and Casting Directors really focus on the training section of actor resumes during the callback phases. A history of dedicated training helps them feel confident in their final selections…because their reputation is also on the line with every booking!

Acting Out Studio has been instrumental in the growth of myself as an actress, an active member of film on the production side, and as a person in general. Classes at AOS have helped me with auditioning, have taught me on-set behavior, and have helped develop my skills as an actress. More than that, AOS has helped me bloom into the confident and motivated person I am today. I have worked on productions not only on-screen but as a 2nd AC, PA, AD, and Sound Mixer because AOS has prepared me for these off-camera roles. That is what sets AOS apart from every other studio.

Our experience with Acting Out Studio has been nothing short of amazing. My daughter has received top quality instruction from experienced and talented professionals. It really is a full-service studio with audition coaching/taping, a full instruction portfolio, professional projects and performances, affiliation with Talent Inc. and much more. Kamber has provided incredible support and guidance on navigating the entertainment industry. AOS management and staff have a tireless dedication to their students (and parents!).

In August 2015 Max and Griffin participated in Talent Inc.  We enrolled the boys in the Talent Inc. program though Kamber Hejlik’s Acting Out Studio in Charlotte, NC. Griffin, who won Overall Child Actor at Talent Inc., was signed by Osbrink Agency in Los Angeles and is now also represented by Carson Adler in NYC and managed by RSA Talent in LA. Talent Inc. literally changed Griffin’s life. The experience gave him the confidence to pursue his dreams.  In addition to several roles in the southeast, Griffin has worked with Adam Sandler, Chris Rock and an amazing ensemble comedic cast in the upcoming Netflix movie The Week Of and recently just got to work with Ralph Macchio as his on-screen son in eight episodes of Cobra Kai with talks of expanding his role in upcoming seasons. Griffin is growing as an actor and continues to get positive feedback from casting and producers. In fact, Griffin has three auditions tomorrow.  As a parent, I am incredible grateful for his preparation by Kamber and his experience at Talent Inc.

Jordan first came to Acting Out Studio after reading there was an audition for a Christmas musical in 2013.  She landed a small part with a solo and was immediately bitten by the acting bug. As this was our family’s first foray into the arts, we signed her up for acting and singing classes.  We could not have been happier that our child was doing something she loved. She literally waited anxiously for each week of class. She took Acting 1 and moved up to Master Class before long.  Jordan has also done extensive improv with EB and singing with Tomeka since she started. She has attended numerous workshops with professionals, Talent Inc. in 2015, Breaking into the Biz with Kamber, including summer camps AND even hosted her 8th birthday party here.  This is Jordan’s home away from home. The entire staff goes overboard to make sure this is an inclusive environment and wants every child to develop a love of performing.  I recommend AOS time and time again. Another bonus is she has made friends from different schools all over Charlotte and Ft. Mill. She now has representation in Charlotte and LA and continues studying her craft and performing any chance she gets.  Thank you AOS!

We would like to thank Acting Out Studio for all of their training and coaching. Brenan as become a more confident actor and feels more prepared in auditions. His Improv class with EB has really helped tremendously with commercial auditions since most commercial auditions are all Improv. I really believe that it was his improv training that led him to booking his two latest commercials for Carowinds and Belk. As a parent we are so thankful for the guidance and preparation that Acting Out Studio has provided for Brenan. We are excited to see Brenan grow in his journey of acting with the help of Acting Out Studio! Thank You again!!

Kamber Hejlik and her incredible staff at Acting Out Studio are very knowledgeable and dedicated to their craft and very caring and supportive of their students. Our son, Kyle has benefited greatly from taking classes at AOS. Kamber and her staff thoroughly prepared Kyle for a very successful Talent Inc Showcase in Orlando. Kamber also assisted us with the logistics of securing appointments with a number of talent agencies. She personally walked us through the process of selecting talent representation for Kyle. We’ve been very pleased with AOS. I highly recommend anyone from novice to experienced actor to become a part of the AOS family.
